Interested in taking a course in Roman Archaeology? You - anyone - can enrol for the course on "Roman Britain" offered at UWA this coming semester. No exams, no essays - just an opportunity to listen as an Audit Student to 20 lectures on this theme. Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 12 noon starting Tuesday 4 March 2008. Don't forget the next RAG Saturday afternoon session is on Saturday 16 February. This time we have a lecture by Sandra Ottley on recent discoveries in the city of Rome and a Time Team video on excavation in Greenwich Royal Park is east London. And, of course, "afternoon tea" and an opportunity to chat. More details here.

Formally announced that as a result of an extraordinarily generous offer from RAG Committee Member Don Boyer to fund the lion's share of the expenses for a second season, the Jarash Hinterland Survey 2008 Season is secure.

The Packard Humanities Institute in California awarded a grant of US$249,000 in support of the Aerial Archaeology in Jordan project. That is for 2008 and it is hoped the grant will be renewed in 2009 and beyond. See RAG 3.3 page 1.

The Group's final Saturday session on 23 August included a wide range of samples of Roman food. Photographs from the session and some of the recipes will shortly be posted on this site.
